Submit Your Video Story of Acceleration
1. Create a video of your story according to our terms of use (below).
In your (approximately) three-to-five-minute video, we suggest that you talk about your role in acceleration (e.g., are you a student, parent, teacher?), the circumstances of your acceleration (e.g., what types of acceleration did you experience? did the school make any special arrangements?), and your view of how acceleration has affected you academically, personally, and/or professionally.
2. Upload your video to YouTube.
3. Read our Talent Release Form & Terms of Use, then submit your story below!
I represent that I have all rights in the motion pictures, still photographs, and audio/video that I have submitted online to the IRPA Academic Acceleration Experiences project. I consent that the motion pictures, still photographs, and audio/video recordings submitted online to the IRPA Academic Acceleration Experiences project may be used for all purposes without compensation. I understand that the motion pictures, still photographs, and audio/video recordings that I submit to the IRPA Academic Acceleration Experiences project may appear in whole or in part or as derivative works on the IRPA Website (www.accelerationinstitute.org), on the Belin-Blank Center Website (www.education.uiowa.edu/belinblank), on IRPA’s YouTube channel, and/or in other publications, presentations, or Websites through IRPA and the Belin-Blank Center. This is not a research study.
Terms of Use: Videos should be between three and five minutes in length. Videos may not mention teachers, school administrators, or other school personnel by name. Videos may not mention schools or school districts by name. Participants are asked to make general references, when necessary, to personnel involved in a student’s acceleration story. For example, reference can be made to “our school’s principal” or “my son’s/daughter’s teacher” in the telling of an acceleration story.
Any material submitted may be edited for length, content, or conformity to the Terms of Use at the sole discretion of The University of Iowa.
This information will be used only for the purpose of communicating with participants about the video(s) they submit and will not be released or shared, to the extent permitted by law.
I hereby hold harmless and idemnify The University of Iowa, the State of Iowa, the Iowa Board of Regents State of Iowa, the Belin-Blank Center, the Institute for Research and Policy on Acceleration, their employees and agents, against losses from any claim arising out of, or related to, any publication, distribution, broadcast transmission, or any other use of the submitted materials.
