A Nation Deceived
In 2004, The John Templeton Foundation sponsored a report titled A Nation Deceived: How Schools Hold Back America's Brightest Students. This national report highlighted the disparity between the research on acceleration and the educational beliefs and practices that often run contrary to the research. The publication of A Nation Deceived has resulted in a national conversation about acceleration and gifted students. The founding of the Institute for Research and Policy on Acceleration (IRPA) is a strong testament to the impact of A Nation Deceived and to the need for continuing research, information, and policy initiatives on acceleration.
A Nation Deceived - International Versions
Because of the tremendous international demand for the report A Nation Deceived, the Belin-Blank Center is excited to present A Nation Deceived (Volume I) in the following languages:

IRPA is pleased to present the report in seven additional languages and it is our hope that the international community will mobilize to meet the needs of their gifted students. The research is clear: when it comes to meeting the needs of gifted students, acceleration is effective and needs to be the cornerstone of a gifted program.
